Bath balls are the perfect way to add variety to your daily bath and provide a moment of relaxation after a busy day. Simply drop a bath ball into warm water and a puffy foam and pleasant aroma will appear as it dissolves. But how do you choose the right bath ball? In addition to the scent, when choosing a bath ball it is worth paying attention to the composition and place of manufacture to ensure that the dyes and fragrances used are safe. Particularly interesting are moisturising bath balls that contain additional skin care ingredients, thus offering not only relaxation but also benefits for the body. What qualities to look for in good bath balls?

Natural ingredients: Good bath balls should contain natural ingredients such as plant oils, butters, mineral salts and herbal extracts that are safe for the skin and provide additional skincare benefits.

Safe dyes and fragrances: Choose bath balls with natural dyes and fragrances that are gentle on the skin and do not cause irritation. Avoid products containing synthetic additives.

Moisturising and conditioning ingredients: Bath balls should contain moisturising ingredients such as shea butter, coconut oil or almond oil to help keep the skin soft and well moisturised.

Relaxing effect: Good bath balls should contain ingredients that help with relaxation, such as essential oils (e.g. lavender, eucalyptus), which have aromatherapy properties to help with relaxation and stress reduction.

Ease of dissolution: Choose balls that dissolve easily in water, creating a rich lather or a gentle effervescence. Quick and even dissolution ensures a pleasant bathing experience.

Irritation-soothing ingredients: Bath balls should contain soothing ingredients such as colloidal oatmeal, aloe vera or chamomile, which help to reduce skin irritation, making bathing pleasant and soothing even for those with sensitive skin.

Oh!Tomi is known for the unique aromas of its cosmetics, each product from the brand is characterised by an intense, fresh fragrance. In this case, it is a composition combining rose and amber notes. The bath balls particularly stand out in this respect. There are three variants on offer, and the ball tested is the fruity Mermaid Star, which smells so intense that the aroma can be felt even through the packaging. The testers were delighted because the Oh!Tomi ball foams up perfectly, effervesces pleasantly and smells great. The fruity notes linger on the skin for a long time. The composition of the ball is worthy of praise, as it contains natural avocado and sunflower seed oils that nurture and moisturise the skin. The price is affordable and the ball weighs a whopping 120g. The balls also have a perforation that allows you to reuse it. The Oh!Tomi Mermaid Star bath ball certainly deserves the top spot in our list!

The Organique effervescent bath ball contains oils that nourish, moisturise and protect the skin, as well as natural plant starch to soothe irritation. In addition, it provides a gentle moisturising effect and its pleasant, fruity fragrance relaxes and enhances the mood while bathing. After use, it leaves a delicate, fragrant protective film on the skin. It is also ideal as a mini-bath before a home manicure and pedicure, preparing the skin on the hands and feet for further treatments. Our testers were pleased with the results, particularly praising the large size of the ball. The main downside is the high price and the possibility of leaving marks on the bath.

Lush Intergalactic, called a bomb by the manufacturer, is a truly impressive bath ball weighing as much as 200 grams! Thanks to its size, it can be used for more than one bath, facilitated by a special graduation on the circumference. Note the natural oils of mint and grapefruit, which give it a unique aroma. However, the Lush bath ball does not contain moisturising ingredients, so if you expect not only relaxation but also care, the better choice would be the products at the top of the ranking. The downside is the presence of SLS in the formulation and the very high price compared to other products.

The bath balls from Manufaktura Piękna are offered in a variety of scents and colours, and their attractive design is also child-friendly. Our testers tested the Plush Teddy Bear ball with a chocolate scent, which unfortunately lost its intensity during the bath. The balls have a creamy colour and tint the water a shade that did not appeal to our testers. The product consists almost exclusively of natural ingredients and is safe for children, while nourishing the skin and leaving it soft to the touch. Unfortunately, the balls do not foam and their effervescence is barely noticeable. The balls quickly sink to the bottom of the bath and dissolve too quickly according to our testers. Although the price is lower than other products, the enjoyment of the bath is also less, and a residue remains after using the balls which has to be removed.

Bath Bomb is a line of bath balls offered by the Sephora brand, available exclusively in their range. Unlike the leader of our ranking, these bath balls do not contain any skincare ingredients. The testers appreciated the pleasant fragrance and the variety of variants available. The Monoi version tested has a pleasant summer cherry aroma, which unfortunately fades quickly. The Sephora bath balls are reasonably priced, but their weight is the smallest in the range - just under 45 grams.
